Imaginaction has not taken the Pacific Northwest trip in the last couple of years, because we've had schools commit to running the program with us, only to back out during the fall, when we need to recruit students. Because of this, we are refocusing our efforts in a different way. In my fourth grade room during the school year, I run a box project that gets kids inspired by math. This summer, Imaginaction is going to run the box project out of First Presbyterian Church in Racine, with students from the area. We hope that by meeting students this way, and inspiring them in math, that we will form relationships with them, and then ask them to be part of a new Pacific Northwest Program trip the following summer.
